💞 This October brought a pleasant surprise that filled me with nostalgia.

🎓 I graduated from “Grigore Moisil” Theoretical High School in Tulcea in 2008, specializing in Math-Informatics.

📝 Now, my former math teacher and Olympiad instructor, Prof. Țigău Dorel, invited me to return to my high school to speak to 12th-grade students about my career path and how a Math-Informatics graduate can pursue a career as an AI engineer.

🎙️ Together with the high school’s leadership, Mr. Tigău organized a 2-hour session for over 100 students, all of whom are now considering their path toward choosing a university.

💌 It was an emotional moment for me and an opportunity to revisit the school where I built a strong foundation in physics and informatics.

🎯 I divided my presentation into three parts:

  1. A timeline of my academic and professional journey after graduation, including the jobs I’ve held and the companies I’ve worked for.
  2. A few use cases from my professional life (such as the mathematical principles behind neural networks and challenges in building a framework for the aerospace industry), highlighting the real-world applications of specific math and physics formulas taught in high school.
  3. A Q&A session.

I was happy to see that both students and even teachers were engaged in the conversation and asked plenty of questions, such as:

    • How difficult is the transition from high school to university?
    • How did you choose your career path?
    • Do you recommend living in student dorms?
    • Do you think AI will entirely replace teachers one day?
    • Is AI going to replace all jobs?
    • Is software engineering still a career for the future?
